Birthday cake to get in the mood for coalition

Innsbruck's future mayor Johannes Anzengruber and his parliamentary group "JA - Jetzt Innsbruck" have been officially negotiating with the Greens and SPÖ since Monday about the formation of the future city government. Before that, however, there was cake for a birthday boy.

The new style already seems to have arrived in Innsbruck's city politics. As reported, coalition talks between the YES list, the Greens and the SPÖ began on Monday. But before they got down to work, mayor-designate Johannes Anzengruber presented a birthday cake to the incumbent mayor Georg Willi, who was celebrating his 65th birthday.

Many topics to be discussed
After a brief congratulations, it was time to get down to business. There are many topics that need to be discussed and then tackled quickly. Together, Anzengruber's YES list, the Greens and the SPÖ have 22 seats on Innsbruck's 40-member municipal council. A majority that can be built on. In addition to Anzengruber, the negotiating team also includes SP City Party Chairman Benjamin Plach, SPÖ City Councillor Elli Mayr, Mariella Lutz (JA) as well as Georg Willi, Janine Bex and Dejan Lukovic (Greens).
