As reported, the "European Art Walls" project was launched in summer 2023 in the center of the market town of Obervellach. The series is now being continued. The warehouse tower is currently being impressively embellished

The Mölltal Tourism Association's art project, which is well worth seeing, makes the history of the market town of Obervellach and the entire Mölltal valley visible. Last year, facades in the center of Obervellach were painted by artists. This year it is the turn of the warehouse tower in Obervellach, which is currently being lavishly embellished by artist Raphael Pesentheiner. Pesentheiner was born in Mölltal and has once again come up with an interesting story.

History becomes visible
The artist has depicted the historical profession of the Glockner muleteers on the eastern wall of the warehouse tower, with the Großglockner in the background. The muleteers transported their loads over the mountains on the backs of pack animals. The smooth transition to the north-facing art wall then shows the hard work of the farmers on the steep slopes of the Mölltal.

Even today, mountain farmers still have to mow the steep slopes with a scythe. The hay harvest of the farming family is visible on the west side of the wall. Below the working farming family, the artist shows the work of the Mölltal miners in the ore mines, silver and gold mines - these were located here in the Mölltal in the high mountains. "Depending on the weather, the artist should be finished by the end of the week," explains actress Edith-Maria Lesnik, who started the art series in summer 2023.

Work will then begin on the Mölltal Glacier from 17 May. A Polish artist and a German artist will then create a 3D painting of mountains, ice, glaciers and the region's animals by the end of May. It will be exciting.
