From May 9 - 12, the "Krone" invites you to the big Alpen Adria Harbour Festival in the picturesque eastern bay of Lake Wörthersee and you can not only be there live, but also win a wonderful package! Find out here what you can expect on site and what you can win.

In 2024, the Wörthersee Ostbucht will once again be all about family and the Alps-Adriatic region. The "Culinary Mile" along the promenade invites you to enjoy and linger with specialties from the entire Alps-Adriatic region. Food stands with different culinary focuses offer a variety of specialties. The Alpen Adria Harbour Festival is accompanied by music groups from a wide variety of musical genres, who entertain the audience along the promenade unplugged and on the stage at Villa Lido, creating an additional atmosphere. At the center of the big celebration, however, are three very special ships, which together are a proud 315 years old - the "Lorelei", the "Loretto" and the "Thalia".

Incidentally, all three ships were built especially for shipping on Lake Wörthersee. First and foremost, there is the flagship of Wörthersee shipping, the "Thalia", built in Dresden, then taken apart to Pörtschach and reassembled here, the steamboat was always underway here with an interruption of 14 years and is now considered the only screw steamer in Austria where you can watch the engine driver through glass windows as he does his sweaty work below deck.

The "Thalia", flagship of the Lake Wörthersee fleet, is even older. She is 115 years old.

Like her sister, the "Loretto" was built in the Danube shipyard in Vienna and is 100 years old.

The first diesel ships on Lake Wörthersee, "Loretto" and "Lorelei", are celebrating two 100th birthdays this year. They also had eventful histories behind them before they were rescued and put back into service by the private initiative "Nostalgieschifffahrt Wörthersee" with a great deal of enthusiasm and idealism. All three ships will set sail on Lake Wörthersee on the "Day of Historic Shipping" on May 11.

Fun for young and old
This top-class family festival is four days of simple enjoyment: The culinary mile offers specialties from Carinthia, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, accompanied by diverse sounds from folk music, pop, country and blues. More than 17 bands have already been scheduled.

Children can look forward to an extensive play area with face painting, a trampoline, bouncy castles, a giant slide and reading activities with "Krone" reading uncle Christian. And on Sunday, May 12, a very special cuddly treat awaits: at the mascot meeting, "Krone" reading fox "Theo", Wörthersee symbol "Nauti", "Smiley" from the children's hotels and many more invite you to a hearty parade on the lakeshore.
