AMAG is now cooking up
Own inn swapped for company restaurant
In Kirchdorf am Inn he ran the Gasthof Marienhof, now Reinhard Stockinger runs the AMAG company restaurant. Read on to find out what ingredients the aluminum producer uses when he cooks for his employees in Ranshofen and what goes down particularly well.
Reinhard Stockinger keeps his most important tools handy in a small pocket on the left upper arm of his chef's jacket: a spoon for tasting, a touch-up pen for labeling packaging and a ballpoint pen. The restaurateur, who most recently ran the Gasthof Marienhof in Kirchdorf am Inn, has been running the AMAG plant restaurant since the beginning of 2023.
Stockinger had described the challenges in his industry as "there's nothing left", which had fueled the switch to the aluminium producer. He is now bursting with energy in Ranshofen.
Team with 14 employees
The company canteen was renovated and modernized at the beginning of the year, and a guest garden is still being installed. The name "Ofenhaus" is also new - it was decided by a vote of the employees. "My suggestion didn't even make it to the preliminary round," says Stockinger, who is responsible for a team of 14 employees.
The kitchen starts at 5 a.m., and two hours later the first hot dishes, such as goulash and sausages, are served. Lunch is served from 10.30 a.m. - up to 500 main courses a day. Vegan dishes are particularly popular, says the 50-year-old.
Now even has its own patisserie
"We cook everything fresh and get a lot of our food locally," says Stockinger, who even had a patisserie set up during the renovation. Pasta is now also produced in-house: "We don't stand still, we have lots of ideas."
