Engelhorn's legacy
The million-dollar show at the Salzburg seminar hotel
Heiress activist Marlene Engelhorn had her fortune decided for the first time last weekend in Salzburg! 25 million are to go to the general public from July. Who gets how much will be decided behind these hotel doors.
A modern conference hotel, four stars in the hotel rating and five seminar rooms. Conveniently located on Alpenstrasse in the city of Salzburg, yet quiet. You can take a short breather in the hotel's own park. The perfect place to think about how to redistribute a fortune of 25 million euros fairly.
Millions from the billion-euro inheritance
Last weekend, plastics heiress Marlene Engelhorn had her "Good Council" at the Hotel Arcotel Castellani in Alpenstrasse for the first time to discuss exactly this. The 31-year-old social activist would like to donate the millions from her grandmother's billion-euro inheritance to the general public. For months, even years, they have been discussing how to approach this fairly. Now the Privy Council of 50 members of the public met for the first time. It did so at the Castellani seminar hotel in the south of the city of Salzburg.
Engelhorn herself gave a presentation on her vision to the council members on Saturday. Together with two scientists from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and with the help of moderators, the "Guter Rat" members are to come one step closer to distribution on the first weekend.
On five further weekends in Salzburg, they will put their heads together once again. For logistical reasons, this will not always take place at the Castellani. A decision on who will receive the 25 million euros will be made in July.
