This is why Liste Scheider’s coffers are now empty

After being kicked out of Team Kärnten, Klagenfurt's mayor has no money in the club's coffers.

Klagenfurt's mayor Christian Scheider is very relaxed about the forced split from Team Kärnten: "There has hardly been any contact with Köfer in recent times, we have built up an independent organization that has been successful," says Scheider. "We may not have any party members in Klagenfurt, but our base is stronger than that of the other parties in the town hall."

Club leader Patrick Jonke: "All members of the municipal council will remain in the club, including outgoing Deputy Mayor Alexander Kastner, who was selected and appointed by Köfer. We will continue to have a powerful team." As reported, Kastner will be replaced by Jonke in April.

Without the preparation of a budget for 2025, however, no more club funding will flow to the parliamentary groups for the time being. This amounts to 110,000 euros for Team Kärnten. Despite a loan, there is not much left in the account. This is because the settlement costs of former municipal director Peter Jost of around 200,000 euros were paid by the club. "Köfer had contributed a one-off payment for the club, which is not repayable," says Jonke.
