Second fugitive inmate caught in Vienna

On Tuesday, the Vienna police succeeded in arresting the second inmate (31) who escaped from Josefstadt correctional facility in mid-July.

Intensive investigations by the officers led to the 31-year-old being found in a hotel room in Josefstadt. Her 35-year-old partner was also in the hotel room at the time.

Foreign identity cards seized
The 35-year-old was also subject to an arrest warrant for drug-related offenses. Both are currently in prison. Other people's IDs and ATM cards, crystal meth and heroin were also seized in the room.

In mid-July, the inmate and another woman had simply walked out of the correctional facility in Vienna wearing casual clothes and fled. A few days later, one of the two fugitives was caught by the police after she was recognized during a traffic stop in Vienna-Währing.
