Knife attack in the middle of Vienna Central Station

Beaten, kicked and attacked with a knife. This is what happened to a 39-year-old man in the middle of Vienna Central Station on Wednesday evening. He is said to have had an argument with his attacker beforehand - the suspect is on the run. 

The brutal attack happened at around 7.30 pm. It is still unclear why the two people got into an argument. The 39-year-old was then kicked, punched and attacked with a knife by his opponent. 

Victim taken to hospital
The perpetrator immediately fled - a manhunt has so far been unsuccessful. The victim received emergency medical treatment at the scene and was then taken to hospital. 

"Any useful information will be accepted - also anonymously - at any police station", police spokeswoman Barbara Gass announced on Thursday.
