Upper floor under a tin roof, only interior blinds, row of windows facing the sunny side. No air conditioning! The fact that children aged 1 to 3 are looked after here not only makes the little ones sweat, but also their parents and carers. In Pressbaum, the temperature - or rather the mercury column - rises in the nursery. 

"Up to 34 degrees are not uncommon," says Wolfgang Kalchhauser from the "Wir" citizens' list. At the same time, he wonders "how the costs of 500,000 euros came about for the extension." An enquiry with those affected confirms the heated conditions and reveals more: the background noise from the outdoor pool next door does not exactly contribute to a greater sense of well-being in the hot rooms, to put it mildly.

The (sunny) playground can also be reached on "hot soles"
And to reach the playground, you have to walk a long way on hot asphalt - right next to it, bathers are looking for a parking space. Mayor Josef Schmid-Haberleitner confirms that sunshades have already been purchased for the playground. As far as air conditioning is concerned, the municipality is "certainly open to requests from the operator".

Nonetheless, the citizens' list "Wir für Pressbaum" (We for Pressbaum) will submit an urgent motion to the municipal council.
