Formula 1 sensation: Ferrari changes its name!
A crazy turnaround in Formula 1: Scuderia Ferrari has finalized a groundbreaking and historic partnership in the middle of the current season and has also changed its name! For around 100 million euros, which will flow over several years, the US technology giant HP can now see itself as a noble partner and name sponsor of the Italians. The team, for which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are currently competing in the Formula 1 World Championship, is now officially called: "Scuderia Ferrari HP".
The name change has already been implemented on various social media channels, and Hewlett-Packard is already present on both Instagram and Twitter in the form of the abbreviation "HP". Ferrari - or officially: "Scuderia Ferrari HP" - is now joining the ranks of Formula 1 teams that are adding sponsors to their team names in exchange for a chunk of money.
In the current world championship, for example, champion Max Verstappen's team officially competes as "Oracle Red Bull Racing" and the "bulls'" second team as "Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team".
"Striving for innovation on the road as well as on the race track"
"Our founder (Enzo Ferrari, editor's note) has passed on his constant desire for progress to us. This has resulted in our pursuit of innovation both on the road and on the track, as well as our commitment to a sustainable future, from carbon neutrality to the education of the younger generation," said Benedetto Vigna, Chairman of the Board of Ferrari. Hewlett-Packard is an ideal partner, as the company is on the same wavelength as the Americans when it comes to values.
Incidentally, "Scuderia Ferrari HP" will not only appear as the name on the Formula 1 cars - which will make their debut at the Grand Prix in Miami at the beginning of May - but will also be used for the Ferrari Esports Team and the Ferrari team in the women's junior series "F1 Academy".
"Both brands are based on a rich history!"
"With technology, performance and exceptional craftsmanship driving the future, the partnership between HP and Ferrari is a natural fit," said Enrique Lores, HP CEO. "Both brands are built on a rich history that has withstood the tests of time."
