Wakeboarding season starts for water sports enthusiasts

Water sports enthusiasts took advantage of the hot days last weekend for a short wakeboarding session on the Danube - and of course to get the boat ready for the season.

Roman Zellner from Klosterneuburg has been passionate about wakeboarding for almost twenty years. And because he is passionate about the board, the 49-year-old bought a boat himself after a few years - and he even moved out of Vienna and straight to the water to save himself the journey to the boat. "We are a group of friends of around 25 people and meet regularly on my boat," explains the amateur sportsman.

Like on vacation
Zellner used the first hot days of the year to get his boat in shape. Because the wakeboarding season starts after the winter break. "You can get away from it all on the boat. It's just pure vacation feeling!" he enthuses. 

Zellner and his friends naturally have a certain amount of ambition: "We also do various tricks such as somersaults and twists. It's just so much fun!"
