Princess Kate withdrew from the public eye for weeks, then suddenly everything happened very quickly! Now it has been revealed: The 42-year-old was forced to make her cancer diagnosis public. Because someone already knew - and apparently threatened to make the secret of Kate's illness public!

Kate was celebrated for being open about her cancer after the publication of her emotional video just over a week ago. Many Royal fans and experts hailed it as proof of a new era for the Royal Family, who had always lived by the motto "never complain, never explain".

Kate and William under pressure to make a move
However, the Daily Mail has now reported that the Princess of Wales did not make her diagnosis public voluntarily. Apparently, Kensington Palace had been put under a lot of pressure - and not only because the London Clinic, where the mother-of-three had undergone abdominal surgery earlier this year, had been snooping around in the medical files.

And, as the British newspaper claims to have discovered, someone was actually aware of Kate's state of health. Whether it was a member of staff at the clinic or someone else was not revealed. But this person is said to have confronted Kensington Palace with their knowledge - presumably with the threat of making the explosive details public.

Kate and William had to react quickly to prevent a possible leak and therefore decided to take the high road, in the form of the video message that shocked more than just the British shortly before the start of the Easter vacations.

"I have cancer"
"I have cancer", the Princess of Wales made public in it and also explained that she was already undergoing "preventative chemotherapy". This was of course a huge shock, said the 42-year-old.

Not only did it take time to recover from the operation earlier this year to start treatment, she said. "Most importantly, we needed time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that was appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I will be fine," Kate said in the video message.

She is doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help her recover - her mind, her body and her soul.

Kate focuses on recovery
It is unclear when Kate will return to public appointments. Initially, it was said that Prince William's wife would resume her royal duties after Easter. In view of the diagnosis, this date has now been postponed to an unknown date.

Kate and William were also absent from the Easter service at Windsor Castle with their children. However, King Charles, who also has cancer, was able to breathe a sigh of relief. The 75-year-old made his first major appearance on Sunday after making his diagnosis public - with charm and apparently in high spirits. A "milestone on the road to recovery", as Joe Little, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, also said earlier this week.
