"Krone" reading uncle Christian Krall was a guest at the practical middle school of the University College of Education in Klagenfurt. MS 12 was also busy reading.

The Ministry has designated March 21 as "Austrian Reading Day" - and this is of course THE day for Christian Krall. The actor and director has put his heart and soul into being the reading uncle of the "Krone" initiative "Abenteuer Lesen" for years.

Christian is usually accompanied by our mascot Theo, the reading fox. However, the youngsters at secondary school were perhaps already too old, sorry, too cool for that. Nevertheless, reading aloud and listening was a hit with the 1a class at the Pädagogische Hochschule's practical middle school!

A book to think about
Christian had the book "Piepmatz macht Wald aus Euch! Weltrettdings für Vorangeschrittene" by Michael Stavarics with illustrations by Stella Dreis. In it, a jay tells of the conflict between humans and the environment in the language of young people - which is intended to make us think. And that's exactly what happened. After the reading, the topics of the environment and waste were eagerly discussed. Rating: worthy of imitation.

By the way: "Krone" reading uncle Christian has long been known and loved throughout Austria for his live readings, but above all for his reading videos. There is now a considerable collection of thought-provoking, inspiring, exciting and funny reading adventures on the Internet at www.kidskrone.at, which can be accessed in a child-friendly way because they are even free of advertising.

Reading fox Theo is back in action on Saturday: Theo will not miss the Easter campaign and season opening of the forest adventure world in St. Kanzian am Klopeiner See, where he will also meet his cunning friend Reiny Reineke. The raffle starts at 10 a.m. and the well-hidden Easter eggs are waiting to be found - great prizes await!

Familiar faces read to children
There was also a lot of reading going on at Middle School 12 in Klagenfurt. "Reading is a boundless adventure of childhood," said principal Birgit Lattacher, quoting the well-known children's and young adult author Astrid Lindgren. Primary school children from VS 11 visited and listened eagerly to the stories being read aloud. Not only pupils, but also guests such as Mayor Christian Scheider, rapper John Patrick Platzer, Timm Bodner from Antenne Kärnten as well as Helga Happ (reptile zoo) and Jonas Claußen, head of the educational service in Carinthia. "The highlight was the raffle, where there were lots of great prizes to be won. The main prize was a bicycle from Beinl. We would like to thank all our readers and sponsors for this great morning!" said the organizers.
