Tyrolean company protects the world from too much sun

The East Tyrolean company Hella specializes in sun and light protection. The company, headquartered in the tranquil town of Abfaltersbach, is the market leader in Austria, but Hella also plays in the top league beyond that. Spectacular buildings are fitted with sun shading systems conceived in East Tyrol.

One of the tallest residential buildings in Austria is currently under construction in Vienna, equipped with 1249 vertical awnings from Hella. Bratislava has had a new addition to its skyline since the end of 2023: the Eurovea Tower has been equipped with 4600 textile façade shading systems from Hella. Two projects that illustrate the importance of the East Tyrolean company.

Systematic sun shading is becoming more important and the demand for solutions for energy-efficient living is increasing.

Hella is one of Europe's leading suppliers of sun, light and weather protection systems for buildings and is headquartered in Abfaltersbach. The company is the market leader in Austria. Hella employs 1300 people worldwide.

"Schneewittchen" in Vienna is one of the tallest residential buildings in Austria and is scheduled for completion in 2025. Hella is also supplying sun shading for this building.

Second highest turnover in the company's history
Hella has now presented its annual results for 2023, with a "stable result" of 214 million euros in turnover. "Despite a challenging market environment, we are still on a stable course," says Andreas Kraler, Managing Partner of the Hella Group. With the second-highest sales result in the company's history, the company has shown that a broad product portfolio, the highest quality standards and unbroken innovative strength represent a successful combination that works even in difficult times. The highest turnover to date was achieved in 2022.

New control systems help to save energy
Control systems are an important component for good sun and weather protection. Hella recently presented the new generation of its "Onyx sensors". Kraler: "Sun shading makes a significant contribution to building efficiency and can result in cost savings for cooling and heating." Kraler cites innovation as an important secret of the company's success. The company intends to remain true to this for this year's 65th anniversary.
