The Purkersdorf Open-air is as much a part of summer as the sun, beach and sea. The "Krone" reveals what fans of the free open-air spectacle can look forward to this year.

For the past 20 years, the host Niki Neunteufel has been organizing the biggest free concert in the Vienna area. On June 15, the summer open-air event on Purkersdorf's main square will take to the open-air stage in a spectacular anniversary version. And as it is well known that good things are often so close at hand, this year's event will feature stars from the Vienna Woods.

After the young and wild 3012 Company from Wolfsgraben, the successful local duo Edmund is on the program - the new Austropop stars Markus Kadensky and Roman Messner have already filled the Wiener Stadthalle, but are originally from Purkersdorf and Pressbaum.

So while the youngsters will kick off the musical summer, the experienced artistic elite will provide the final chord. At the second event on August 31st, the Purkersdorf All Stars led by Wolfgang Grünzweig and Karl Takats will cause a sensation before Austria 3's original backing band, Wir 4, performs.

Ulli Baer, Gary Lux, Harald Fendrich and Harry Stampfer also invite greats such as Boris Bukowski and Christopher Seiler to join them on stage as guest singers. Of course, the most legendary of all Wienerwald artists will not be missing: Wolfgang Ambros, the "Godfather of Austropop", has also announced his appearance. Admission is - as always - free!
