Schopp: “I’m tired of discussing it”

FC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a clear 5:1 victory against Hartberg to kick off the championship round. However, the Styrians also had to put up with controversial decisions. Coach Markus Schopp is tired of having to discuss them.

Gerhard Struber (Salzburg coach): "We dominated our opponents for long stretches and scored the goals at the right moments. The red card helped us, of course. For me this decision was very clear, Bowat was the last man. We then made good use of the superior numbers. If you look at the statistics, the win could have been higher. It gives us a good feeling for the international break. I'm happy with the way the team exploited the spaces. But we could have scored one or two more goals."

Markus Schopp (Hartberg coach): "The 5:1 speaks for itself. We weren't able to make a decisive impact in attack. Now we have to brush ourselves off, work through the game and learn from it quickly. We didn't defend well enough and we need to do that more consistently, especially from set-pieces. For me, the decisive moment was the ninth minute, when Fernando should have been shown the red card. I'm tired of discussing things like that. Too many decisions have been made against us recently, perhaps because we're just Hartberg. You can discuss the red card for Bowat, the question is where does the foul start. But we have to accept that now. I can guarantee that we will play an outstanding championship group."
