Mayor tells:
Idea saved mother (34) during attack by her dog
The 34-year-old's children had to watch the attack by the four-legged friend, who apparently could not be calmed down. The coincidence of the local circumstances and a good idea from the mother probably prevented even worse.
"It could have turned out differently. Thoughts of the fatal case in Naarn come to mind"-Hohenzell's mayor Thomas Priewasser is audibly shocked. A 34-year-old woman was reportedly attacked by her own dog, an American Akita, while walking in a wooded area in his municipality and bitten several times in her arms and legs, leaving her hospitalized.
Leash tied to a rootstock
Their two small children - two and six years old - who were out walking the dog had to witness this. Mayor Priewasser spoke to the father, and chance and a good idea from the 34-year-old may have saved her from even worse: "She was able to tie the lead to a rootstock. The dog was fixed there and was therefore no longer able to attack her."
The animal is now under observation and the family has already voluntarily handed it over to the breeder.
