Without a permit
Shooting firecrackers can be expensive
Whether at Easter or on private occasions: "shots" with firecrackers or gas cannons must be authorized. Otherwise you could face hefty fines.
By firing a gas cannon to celebrate the birth of his child, a young father at Weißensee triggered a major incident. Which could now be expensive for him. This is because the traditional firing of firecrackers as an expression of joy for the resurrection on Easter Sunday (in many places already on Holy Saturday) must also be approved by the respective municipalities or district authorities. Customs groups are also required to comply with the Pyrotechnics Act - only a tested firecracker cannon with the appropriate stamp and the corresponding cartridges may be used for shooting.
"Shooting out" is a legal gray area
Good to know: The "shooting out" for round birthdays, which is very popular, at least among the friends and relatives who carry it out, but is rarely officially registered, is a legal gray area. This is because the administrative offense of "undue noise disturbance" is a matter of interpretation - according to the motto: where there is no plaintiff, there is no judge. But in the worst case, such an offense can cost up to 4000 euros.
