20-year-old Swiss
After retiring, talent pursues her dream again
Sometimes things turn out differently than you think. At the age of 18, Switzerland's Alessia Bösch declared her retirement from ski racing due to the high pressure to perform. Now the 20-year-old wants to attack again.
"My childhood dream continues," she writes in a video on Instagram. "Almost three years after my last race and a solo backpacking trip around the world, I'm back at it."
Swiss champion in the super-G
As an 18-year-old, Bösch struggled with the enormous pressure to perform and the competition on the ski circuit. In 2021, the talented youngster became Swiss champion in the super-G and came second in the combined in the same year. She also won two FIS races in the giant slalom and super-G.
Without skis and snow, she can take it in the long run. Will we see Bösch in the World Cup soon? ...
