A serious accident occurred on Thursday at a cemetery in the Swiss municipality of Sankt Gallen, just over the border in Vorarlberg. An 18-year-old woman was run over by a car and seriously injured. The investigation is ongoing. 

The accident occurred at around 1.15 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the eastern cemetery in Sankt Gallen. There, a 29-year-old driver reversed his small truck on a path. The man probably overlooked a female pedestrian. The vehicle hit the 18-year-old woman and ran her over. 

The victim sustained serious injuries in the crash, particularly to her chest. The 18-year-old had to be rescued by the fire department and taken to hospital. The accident raises a number of mysteries, which is why the public prosecutor's office and the municipal police are now investigating.
