Load is broken
Involuntary serving: truck loses beer pallets
The carnival is over, but in Seewalchen am Attersee (Upper Austria) a lot of beer ended up on the road on Thursday morning. Involuntarily, though: a truck drove too fast into a bend and lost more than ten pallets of the barley juice. Cheers to that!
A sad sight for all lovers of cool beer: on Thursday, countless crates of beer and shattered bottles lay on the road in the middle of Seewalchen am Attersee.
"A truck turned into the bend too quickly and then the load slid off," reports Christian Mayerhofer, commander of the Seewalchen volunteer fire department. More than ten pallets of beer are likely to have been damaged as a result.
Road closed for two and a half hours
13 firefighters were deployed and, together with the road maintenance department and with the help of a tractor with a skip, cleaned the road of the glass splinters. What was left of the load was loaded back onto the truck.
"The operation took two and a half hours," says Mayerhofer. The Seewalchener Landesstraße was closed for this time. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the accident.
