Athens: Man shoots three people in shipping company

In Glyfada, a suburb of the Greek capital Athens, a man broke into the offices of a shipping company on Monday and shot three people dead. He then committed suicide, reported the Greek radio station ERT News.

According to initially unofficial information, the alleged perpetrator is said to be a 70-year-old man who had been an employee of the shipping company. This was reported by the ERT channel, citing police sources. Police spokeswoman Consantia Dimoglidou said that the company owner was one of the three victims.

Perpetrator was released a few days ago
Employees of the shipping company, who were able to get to safety in time, reported that the perpetrator had been dismissed a few days ago. Eyewitnesses said that he had a shotgun and a revolver with him.

Police officers and officers from a special unit had entered the building of the shipping company before the suspected shooter was found. They made sure that the remaining employees were taken out of the building safely, said spokeswoman Dimoglidou.
