Female biker in critical condition after crash with truck

A 52-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Frastanz (Vorarlberg) on Wednesday morning. A truck driver (35) had overlooked the woman.  

The 35-year-old truck driver had previously driven into a parking lot because he wanted to turn back. When he drove onto Feldkircher Straße (L 190), he overlooked the biker, who was riding on a combined footpath and cycle path. As a result of the collision, the woman was thrown head first against the windshield and then onto the asphalt, where she lay unconscious.

Seriously injured despite wearing a helmet
Although she was wearing a helmet, she suffered serious head injuries. After first aid at the scene, the 52-year-old was taken to Feldkirch Regional Hospital - her condition is critical. An expert is now to reconstruct the accident in detail.
