Woman (58) cheated hotels for 15 years: Arrest!

A 58-year-old woman from Düsseldorf is said to have cheated hotels for 15 years and never paid for her rooms. When she again wanted to stay "free of charge" for several days - this time in Schwerin - she was caught by attentive receptionists.

"We are aware of over 100 similar incidents," said a police spokeswoman about the case. "According to the current state of the investigation, the woman pretended to be solvent when registering at the hotel and planned to leave the accommodation without paying the outstanding costs of around 500 euros," she continued.

"Vacationed" for free for 15 years
The 58-year-old appears to be a repeat offender. Her brazen scam is said to have borne fruit for more than 15 years, and now the handcuffs have clicked in Schwerin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania).

"Credit card misplaced" 
Hotel employees were suspicious of the woman's payment-shy behavior, who repeatedly claimed to have "misplaced her credit card". They alerted the police. Enforcement has already been ordered.
