First he looked into the "Krone" to read about the miraculous birth of triplets in his lambs - then into the barn, where one of his sheep caused a surprise with an even rarer quadruplet birth. The "crown" was with farmer Andreas Bauer in the Mostviertel region.

It is almost unbelievable and an extremely rare event in the barn, even for experienced breeders! While the brave farmer Andreas Richter from Petzenkirchen in the district of Melk was still enjoying the "Krone" report on his sheep triplets, he was allowed to rush back to the cattle shed. Because another one of his animal-friendly ewes gave birth to adorable and now already quite vigorous bleating lambs.

And surprisingly, there were four of them. "Just as the photo of our sheep triplets appeared in the 'Krone', we were able to celebrate this extremely rare litter of quadruplets on our farm," says the young owner from the green heart of the Mostviertel region, full of pride at the breeding success of the valuable Friesian-Lacaune breed. The first well-wishers to speak were Paul Nemecek, head of the Farmers' Union, and Stephan Pernkopf, State Councillor for Agriculture, via the "Krone" newspaper: "We are very proud of our small-scale agriculture!
