Series of burglaries in farm stores solved thanks to a witness

Five burglaries in farm stores in the Mauthausen area have now been solved. The perpetrator is a Baltic man (48). He was caught because a victim caught him in the act and called the police. After the arrest, there was a grotesque bureaucracy until the crook was arrested.

In Mauthausen, several thefts from farm stores were solved. A Balte was caught red-handed in another farm shop theft on Sunday by the victim, who immediately alerted the police.

During the immediate manhunt, the 48-year-old man was stopped on a mountain bike. Based on the credible accusation, he was arrested at 12.40 p.m. and taken to the police station for immediate questioning.

Initially only reported at large, then arrested after all
During the subsequent interrogation, the man confessed to the fifth farm shop theft. After the investigation was completed, the public prosecutor's office ordered that he be released.

Due to the current residence ban in Austria, the journal service of the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum (BFA) was contacted, which issued an arrest warrant. The 48-year-old was therefore transferred to the police detention center (PAZ) in Linz, where he was found to be fit for detention.
