Gymnastics with letters

“Knee, knee”: that was the first “Fit with Goldie”

"Heel, heel, knee, knee - and you can vary the tempo." Philipp Jelinek couldn't have done it better. As promised, Andreas Goldberger's debut as the nation's gymnast on Monday offered a wide range of exercises for all fitness levels and age groups.

After the original ORF fitness show "Fit mit Philipp" disgracefully came to an end due to unfair chat histories, various Austrian celebrities are now doing gymnastics on the ORF early morning program "Fit mit den Stars".

After Conny Kreuter last week, former ski jumper Andreas Goldberger has laced up his sneakers to get the Austrian people, if not in shape, then at least in shape by Friday.

For the "guaten Schuachplatter"
With the promise not to train for a ski jump, but for more "flexibility and coordination", "Goldi" started on Monday with foot circles on the floor. After all, the joints have to withstand a lot and "carry the whole body weight".

After the warm-up, things got "more special", as Goldberger threatened, without overtaxing anyone. Walking on the stand, swinging arms.

The athlete then slowly increased the complexity of the coordination exercises - "heel, heel, knee, knee - and you can vary the speed" - he even led the audience in a gentle "shoe platter". "The good Schuachplattlers have an advantage there," he explained.

It should not go unmentioned that the dancers also performed with letters. "Ls", "Ts" and "Us" were formed with the arms. The main thing was that the muscles were well tensed.

In between, he was concerned about the safety of his fellow gymnasts and advised them to stop wherever they liked. As I said, Jelinek couldn't have done it better.

If you're interested now, the episodes are online for 29 days each on ORFThek. In the week from April 29 to May 3, "Fit mit den Stars" will be presented by former Austrian soccer player and coach Roman Mählich on ORF 2 at 9.10 a.m. on weekdays.
