Ex-Red Bull driver amused: “I’m not surprised”

Former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat has expressed amusement at the unrest within his former racing team. He is not surprised by the power struggles and chaos, said the Russian. He is expecting some exciting months ahead. 

"It seems to be a bit chaotic there. Personally, I'm not very surprised," explained Kvyat in an interview with "Speed City Broadcasting". A power struggle had been looming here for some time: "I don't know if it's Helmut Marko or if Christian Horner is more important now. I don't know who is winning in their power struggle up there."

However, the Russian is certain that there will be some interesting developments in the coming weeks and months. These would include not only the investigations surrounding the Horner case, but also general personnel decisions.

"It's a shame"
This also includes his former team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. When asked about him, Kvyat took a jab at him: "They seem to like bringing their old friends back, so if any of them want to get in touch, they still know my phone number." The 29-year-old was alluding to the fact that the Australian was brought back by Red Bull.

For the Russian, the drama surrounding Red Bull is a refreshment to the otherwise often boring everyday life in Formula 1. "It's a shame that what happens off the track is much more interesting than what actually happens on the track," concluded Kvyat.
