Kurz’s chief prosecutor flees the WKStA

There are rumblings among the corruption hunters. According to "Krone" information, Gregor Adamovic, who was the prosecutor in the Kurz trial, wants to leave the WKStA. He is said to have applied for a judgeship at the regional court in St. Pölten. Adamovic is not the only prominent person to leave the WKStA.

There is currently a lot of whispering in judicial circles about the economic and corruption authority. The reason for this is that well-known corruption hunters are apparently fleeing the authority.

"Fanta Four"
There was once a group within the WKStA known as the "Fanta Vier". Four public prosecutors were given this name because they had reported the now deceased head of the Justice Section, Christian Pilnacek. The Fanta Vier - with senior public prosecutors Gregor Adamovic, Christina Jilek, René Ruprecht and Elisabeth Täubl - are on the verge of disintegration.

Täubl has left for The Hague, Jilek has officially been with the public prosecutor's office in Graz since March 1 and Gregor Adamovic is said to have applied for a judgeship at the St. Pölten regional court.

Adamovic is said to be "frustrated"
Adamovic is not just any senior public prosecutor at the WKStA. He was in charge of the charges against Sophie Karmasin, as well as the charges of making false statements against former chancellor Sebastian Kurz. And: he got the survey case rolling, which ultimately forced the resignation of Sebastian Kurz. His motivation for leaving the WKStA: Insiders claim that Adamovic is "frustrated" because he "cannot permanently assert himself with his views" - and this despite the fact that the WKStA's supposed biggest enemies - the duo Christian Pilnacek and Johann Fuchs - were successfully dumped. Nevertheless, there were repeated instructions from the new supervisors in Innsbruck, which went against Adamovic's grain.

No one at the WKStA wants to be left with the "Ibiza complex"
There is also said to have been a personal slight. Senior public prosecutor Jilek, his most important colleague in the WKStA, is said to have concealed from him that she had applied for a position in the Graz public prosecutor's office. As Adamovic is not very popular within the WKStA, his circle of trust is visibly crumbling. In addition, no senior public prosecutor wants to be left alone with the complex Ibiza proceedings, which have to come to an end at some point - this is also said to be a reason for the strong flight movements.

Adamovic has long been the favorite child of the head of the WKStA, Ilse-Maria Vrabl-Sanda, but this relationship has reportedly been "fragile" for some time. Should Adamovic really become a judge, who will take over his cases at the WKStA? There is still the group leader Bernhard Weratschnig, who must have an overview of all the cases in the file. Senior public prosecutor Roland Koch is well trained, but he is said to have already expressed his intention to apply to become a judge on several occasions.
