Naked, more naked, "Bridgerton": as we all know, the Netflix hit series doesn't skimp on hot scenes. And in the third season, which starts on May 16, things will get really hot again. Only for one actress there was a special sex clause in advance ...

"We break a piece of furniture during an (explicit) scene," Nicola Coughlan, who will be in the spotlight as Penelope Featherington in the third season of "Bridgerton", gave fans a preview of how hot the new episodes will actually be in a radio interview.

But while viewers will be able to enjoy these and even more explicit scenes, the 37-year-old has been assured that her parents won't have to watch them. Because they are strict Catholics.

The solution: a special sex clause, as Coughlan revealed to "SiriusXM Hits1". According to this, she had a contractual guarantee that there would be a youth or, in this case, parent-free cut. This means that mom and dad can watch the series with their daughter without having to see her really hot scenes. 

"People think I'm joking," Coughlan explained. "But it's literally in my contract." To explain: she grew up in a strict Catholic household and when her mom saw "Bridgerton" for the first time, she was more than shocked by so much naked skin.

"When she saw 'Bridgerton' for the first time, she didn't know it would be like that," the Irishwoman had to smile at her mom. "You see butt, Jonathan Bailey nice butt, about two minutes into the first episode. And she was like: 'What's that?"

Meanwhile, mom Coughlan finds the series "fantastic and really funny" and also talks "about butts all the time".

However, Coughlan didn't want to risk the fact that mom can also look at her daughter undressed and having sex. Although she admitted that she felt really comfortable filming the sex scenes.

Sex scenes were a lot of fun
"They gave us a lot of freedom, we were allowed to have a lot of say," said the 37-year-old. That gave her "a little feeling of self-confidence" because you think: "Oh yes, that's exactly how we do it." "The scenes were so much fun. I wouldn't have thought that. They were great!"

Season three of "Bridgerton" is all about the romance of Penelope Featherington, who is also known to be the mysterious Lady Whistledown, with Colin Bridgerton.
