Exhaust emissions too high: monster truck show canceled

A monster truck show in Hamburg was stopped on Saturday due to excessive exhaust fumes. An eleven-year-old was taken to hospital with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the fire department.

The fire department had already been alerted at midday on Saturday because the organizer of the "Monster Jam" in the northern German port city had measured an increased concentration of CO. However, as the fire department detected lower levels, the show was continued at a reduced level.

Two planned shows canceled
The fire department was then alerted again at around 5 pm: An eleven-year-old boy had become nauseous in the hall and was complaining of a headache. The event was then terminated. The organizers announced on the Barclays Arena website that the shows planned for Saturday evening and Sunday had also been cancelled.
