Easter fun for children and animals throughout the city

From City Hall to the zoo: There is a lot to experience in Vienna during the vacations. The "Krone" has the insider tips.

The Easter bunny is coming in leaps and bounds: On Saturday, around 250,000 schoolchildren start their vacation. So that the children and young people don't just sit around at home, the "WienXtra" vacation game is once again offering a number of activities. There are many offers, especially in the inner city:

• Easter at Schönbrunn Zoo: this year, the Easter bunny is not only coming to visit children and adults, but also the animals at Schönbrunn. The spherical armadillos have already been allowed to eat colorful eggs in advance. The children's program starts on Monday in the Orangery: Easter cards can be painted and glued in a craft corner.Kathi Mötzl

• Spring Whirl Festival: a spectacle for the whole family. From Tuesday to Thursday from 2pm to 4pm, the town hall hosts the big "Spring Whirl". There will be everything from theater performances, a Punch and Judy stage and creative stations to a children's make-up station. Admission to the festival is free.

• Search for lions: The National Library hides animal inhabitants. Young explorers (aged five to eight) are invited to keep an eye out for lions. They will also be told stories about the fantastic creatures of the State Hall. Dates: March 23, 26 and April 1, each at 2 pm. Participation costs 3 euros for children and 14.50 euros for adults.

• Playing in the banqueting hall: The banqueting hall in the town hall becomes a play and creative zone. The youngest children will have their own toddler play area with everything that is particularly fun for the little ones and a Bioblo building block corner.
