Weapons ban at the train station and for bows extended
Not "every year again", but "every three months again" is the motto of the executive in Innsbruck. We are talking about the weapons ban zones at the main railway station and in the Bogenmeile. These will be issued repeatedly from Friday.
The weapons ban was first introduced in the well-known Bogenmeile on December 1, 2018. A few months later - on March 1, 2019 - the decree for the main train station followed. "The weapons ban zones give the police the opportunity to take more effective action against potential perpetrators of violence. Six knives, a baton, a knuckleduster, two alarm guns, cartridges and a pepper spray were seized in the two weapons ban zones during twelve priority operations from November 2023 to January 2024," it says.
Anyone who violates the ban must expect hefty fines.
