Disruptive action at gala
Hillary Clinton’s appearance accompanied by shouting
An appearance by former US First Lady Hillary Clinton in Berlin was loudly disrupted by several demonstrators on Monday evening. At the "Cinema for Peace" gala at the Theater des Westens, the 76-year-old was accused of war crimes, among other things.
Clinton herself was not affected by the disruptive actions. In response to shouts from a man who loudly called for a ceasefire in the Middle East, she replied: "If Hamas releases the hostages, there can be a ceasefire tomorrow." She said at the end of the conversation that she understood the strong emotions that many people were currently feeling, "but you don't solve problems by shouting". The troublemakers were led out of the hall.
Clinton: "Do everything to prevent Trump"
The upcoming US presidential elections in November 2024 were also discussed: "I will do everything I can to prevent a second term for Donald Trump", the former US Secretary of State made clear.
Hollywood icon Sharon Stone also commented on the US presidential election campaign and proved that she is no fan of Trump. The former president should "sit in prison for the rest of his life", Stone told the German Press Agency. "Don't let him out," said the 65-year-old, referring to numerous accusations and proceedings against Trump.
Organizer repeatedly called for moderation
The founder of "Cinema for Peace" - a platform for philanthropists and filmmakers who pursue charitable projects - repeatedly called for moderation during the event. Anyone can express their opinion, but one must remain respectful, said German film producer Jaka Bizilj.
