McDonald’s plans to relocate in Klagenfurt

More space is needed for the McDonald's branch in Völkermarkter Straße. An area where a breakfast restaurant was recently closed could be a possible new location. 

"We are currently examining various options for the planned relocation of our branch in Völkermarkter Straße and are in local talks," confirms McDonald's company spokesperson Wilhelm Baldia.

One possible location, which above all offers more parking spaces, is the site of the nearby breakfast restaurant "Cafe Del Sol" right on the city limits. The company ceased operations at this branch in the spring for financial reasons. The restaurant has been closed since March 25.

After the restaurant concept with its colonial-style architecture had initially been very popular, the restaurant has become increasingly quiet in recent years. It served food from morning to night. The "all you can eat" breakfast buffet was particularly popular.

Entire inventory sold
Last week was the last time there was movement in the restaurant, as a liquidation was organized. Bargain hunters got their money's worth, as the entire inventory such as furniture, catering and electrical appliances, pictures, crockery and much more was sold.

There are currently four McDonald's branches in Klagenfurt. The chain is considered to be the largest catering partner for local agriculture.
