Spears has to pay legal fees for her father

Britney Spears has settled the years-long legal dispute with her father Jamie Spears. And although she has won her freedom, the singer is still "furious": the 41-year-old has to fork out around two million dollars to pay for the 71-year-old's legal fees.

In contrast to his daughter, Jamie Spears does not have to pay a single cent for the years of litigation in court. A decision that is said to make the singer "furious", reported "TMZ". After all, in addition to the approximately two million dollars from Spears senior, the "pop princess" also has to shell out four million dollars for her own legal fees.

Spears angry with lawyer
It is said that Spears is therefore particularly angry with her lawyer. He has allegedly always maintained that the singer is on the winning track in this matter.

The lawyers confirmed to People magazine that an agreement was reached in Los Angeles Superior Court at the end of the week. "Although the guardianship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom has now truly been granted," Rosengart said in a statement. "As she wished, her freedom now includes no longer having to appear or participate in court or be involved in legal proceedings in this matter." 

In court, Spears' attorney Mathew Rosengart had accused Jamie Spears of mishandling and fleecing his daughter's estate. Britney lived under her father's guardianship for 13 years, which was only lifted in November 2021.

"He loves his daughter"
However, dad Spears has always said through his lawyers that he has had all expenses approved by the guardianship court and that everything has therefore proceeded lawfully. 

"Jamie is thrilled that everything is behind him," Spears' lawyer Alex Weingarten explained. "He loves his daughter very much and all he has ever done is protect and support her."

"Real wine feels beautiful"
Britney Spears has now also spoken out about the settlement on Instagram - and has struck a surprisingly conciliatory tone.

Accompanying a picture of a bottle of wine, the singer wrote: "At some point you'll understand that love heals everything and that's all there is. And real wine feels extremely beautiful too."
