What a wonderful premiere! On Wednesday evening, Crown Princess Amalia attended a state banquet for the first time. Thanks to a beautiful gown and a sparkling tiara, the 20-year-old was the radiantly beautiful center of attention at the festive dinner.
On Wednesday, King Willem-Alexander hosted a state banquet to mark the visit of King Felipe of Spain and Queen Letizia to the Netherlands. It was a first for Crown Princess Amalia, but the 20-year-old mastered it with flying colors.
Amalia was the center of attention
And so instead of the royal visit, Amalia, who had recently been living in Madrid because of the threats against her, was the center of attention that evening - in the truest sense of the word.
Because in the photos taken at the state banquet, the heir to the Dutch throne is in the center, surrounded not only by her parents and the Spanish royal couple, but also by her grandmother Princess Beatrix and her sister Margriet.
Sparkling tiara as the highlight
Amalia also looked simply magical that evening. She wore a dark blue gown with a V-neck and chiffon cape for the formal reception.
The highlight of Amalia's look, however, was the sparkling tiara with pink diamonds that the 20-year-old wore in her updo. A matching necklace also flashed out from under the transparent fabric of her dress.
It was certainly a very special moment for Amalia, even though it was not the first time that the pretty heir to the throne had been allowed to wear a tiara. She made her debut two years ago at a gala dinner to celebrate Princess Ingrid Alexandra's 18th birthday.
