ARTEDEA competition
trioAEDA picks up the coveted trophy
24 young musicians made the Klagenfurt Konzerthaus shake at the ARTEDEA competition. The performances of all participants were imaginative, unique and musically superb.
Brilliant sounds, imaginative and creative interweaving of the most diverse musical style epochs with contemporary compositions: What the 24 musicians of the five chamber music ensembles that took part in the ARTEDEA competition on Wednesday delivered was fascinating.
"They were incredibly beautiful, musical messages that also shone with theatrical performance," praised Roland Streiner, Rector of the Gustav Mahler Private University of Music (GMPU). The Music University accompanied the chamber music competition, which was initiated by the Lions Club ARTecon; together with the "Kärntner Krone" and the ORF; moderated by Ursula Mikosch.
The jury's result was presented by Lions President Johannes Pöschl after the show act by the brass ensemble "BlechReiz". There were shouts of joy and thunderous applause for trioAEDA - Ema Pavlic, Sara Gajšek (vocals) and Rebeka Dobravec (piano). The lovely sound ambassadors are the ARTEDEA 2024 winners. "It's great that our work was so appreciated. We are thrilled and happy!" The trio merged the performance of Dvořák's sounds with the modern piece "Unraveled" by Eva Ostanek. Their musical story of love, their staged performance in a floral dress with song, language and red color, was deeply moving. The trio plans to use the 2,500 euros to book master classes. "A good coffee with cream will go a long way."
"The ensembles' messages were incredibly diverse, each performance was unique in its own way," said a touched Professor Arno Steinwider from the MUK University of Music. The audience in the almost full Konzerthaus Arena was also in full swing.
Trombone ensemble wins performance at the theater festival
The trombone ensemble Carinthian Trombones, which performed a world premiere by Stephan Kühne, whose sounds were reminiscent of those of Williams, Bruckner and Gabrieli, emerged as the clear winner in the QR code voting. "A performance at our theater festival in September awaits them," said jury member and city theater director Matthias Walter happily.
