Echo of Sageder's departure
“LASK is a real snake pit!”
Two days before the Bundesliga clash against Red Bull Salzburg, LASK coach Thomas Sageder was suspended. Former assistant coach Maximilian Ritscher and LASK academy manager Thomas Darasz will take over on an interim basis. The reactions of "krone.at" users and fans to this decision were mixed.
Comments such as "This was overdue!" or "9 months too late!" show that Thomas Sageder had a difficult time at LASK from the very beginning. For many fans and "krone.at" users, it was the right decision for Linz to finally end their collaboration with the former blue-and-white coach two days before the match against Salzburg.
"Never successful before!"
With a points average of 1.49 and some catastrophic performances from his team, Sageder never really got on at LASK. "A bang is an exaggeration! Sageder's record is worse than Kühbauer's points average," posted user Ploy. And further: "Gruber is also overdue, what did he actually expect, Sageder is a classic assistant coach, he hasn't really been successful as a boss anywhere yet!"
And it's not just Sageder who is condemned, the club, CEO Siegmund Gruber and sports director Radovan Vujanovic also get their comeuppance. An excerpt:
Fans mourn Kühbauer
While user MMerkel also supports this opinion ("In my eyes, Vujanovic and President Gruber are quite simply bunglers in the sporting field."), he and other fans mourn Didi Kühbauer. "There was no reason to part ways with Kühbauer". The "Ur-Rapidler" had surprisingly signed with the Linzers in May 2022 and was fired even more surprisingly after a points average of 1.73 after just under a year.
"Tuchel would be available"
The question of a successor is also hotly debated. Wishes like hartholz233 's ("Tuchel would be available. Then things will pick up again.") will probably not come true. Names such as Peter Stöger have also been mentioned. W. Neu even brings an ex-Rieder into play on the LASK Facebook page: "If I were LASK, I would try very hard to get the current Cercle Brugge coach Miron Muslic!" But it is also questionable who would want to do that. Especially as the coach has changed five times in the last four years. Roland D. writes: "And the chaos at the club continues! I wish we would give a coach at least two years and not always throw away our nerves. Under this leadership, Glasner would have been fired too!"
