The open days at the new Oberwart Clinic continue to exceed all expectations. On the first weekend alone, around 10,000 people visited the clinic's open days. For some "onlookers", however, parking in front of the hospital resulted in an expensive aftermath.

Parking spaces are in high demand in Oberwart, especially around the new clinic, which is currently experiencing a rush of visitors in a class of its own. The clinic's open days exceeded all expectations on the very first weekend. "We didn't expect such a success. If this continues, we expect up to 30,000 people to come and see the new clinic," says Gesundheit Burgenland. "I can't remember an event in southern Burgenland that has attracted so many people," says Marc Seper, Commercial Director of Oberwart Clinic.

2000 visitors in two hours on Saturday
More than 4,700 guests were welcomed in the first two days alone, and on Saturday around 2,000 visitors came in the first two hours to take a look behind the scenes of the most modern clinic in the country. By the evening hours, there were as many as 4300 people.

LH Doskozil: "Offensive strategy in health is accepted"
Governor Hans Peter Doskozil, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Gesundheit Burgenland, also speaks of a complete success: "It is impressive what the employees of Oberwart Clinic have achieved together. I am really pleased when the months of preparation are rewarded in this way and we can report record visitor numbers for southern Burgenland. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success and congratulations to the organizing team. As with the construction of the clinic, it is clear that professionals are at work here. And: health is the most important issue for many people. In Burgenland, we are on the right track with our offensive strategy for cutting-edge medicine close to home, and it is demonstrably being accepted."

Praise for the team at Oberwart Clinic
Franz Öller, Commercial Director of Gesundheit Burgenland, also speaks of an award for the entire team at Oberwart Clinic and adds: "Our path of innovation in regional healthcare is being accepted by the population - the rush of visitors is an award for the entire team in Oberwart, who planned and implemented a really great event."

Rush of visitors caused parking chaos
The rush of visitors was also visible in front of the new clinic. On Friday, it even got to the point where cars were parked in the second lane in Dornburggasse.

Police operation due to parking offenders and ringing municipal cash register
The result: a police operation that had expensive repercussions for the parking offenders. The municipality's parking marshals also had their work cut out for them, as it was reported that many visitors were not aware that parking around the hospital is subject to charges from Monday to Friday.

Parking garage will be open to visitors from Thursday
As of Thursday, Gesundheit Burgenland is responding to the parking shortage by opening around 200 parking spaces in the new parking garage to visitors. If you want to avoid a parking ticket, then the parking spaces at the Informgelände are an option, which mean a 300 meter walk, but are still free. The next (and last) opportunity to visit the clinic behind the scenes will be next week from April 11 to 13, 2024.
