Cried bitter tears
Shannen Doherty is preparing for her death
She is not yet ready to die, Shannen Doherty, who has breast cancer, recently revealed in a major interview with "People" magazine. However, the former "Charmed" actress has now explained in her podcast that she is still intensely preoccupied with dying and is even already preparing for death.
"My mother is my priority right now," explained Shannen Doherty in the latest episode of her podcast "Let's Be Clear". "I know it's going to be hard for her if I die before her."
Doherty is selling her belongings
That's why she's already preparing for her death, the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress continued candidly. "Because it's going to be so hard for her, I want other things to be easier for her. I don't want her to have to worry about a lot of things. I don't want her to have four storage rooms full of furniture."
To make life easier for Mama Rosa after her death, she has started donating her personal possessions and selling antiques and other items that have accumulated over the years - "just in case" something happens to her, says Doherty.
She also recently cleared out her second home in Tennessee, the 52-year-old continued. "It was really hard and really emotional because to some degree I felt like I was giving up on this dream of expanding this property, building a house for myself and a house for my mom and then expanding the barn."
"I packed up and started crying"
Doherty went on to explain that she had actually planned to build a sanctuary there for horses that were "given away by their owners because they were too old". And explained with tears choking her voice: "That was one of my dreams ..."
That's why saying goodbye to Tennessee was particularly hard for her. "I packed up and started crying ... I felt like I was giving up a dream - and what does that mean for me? Does that mean I'm giving up on life? Does that mean I'm throwing in the towel?"
Her mother was then the one who encouraged her "not to get rid of this place". Nevertheless, she returned a week later to pack all her things and take them to California. "It was the right decision," Doherty continued, and doing so had given her a kind of "peace".
Wants to collect memories
Throughout the process, she said she eventually realized that all of her possessions don't bring her as much joy as collecting memories with her mother and loved ones. "It allows me to do more traveling because I've made money from the sale. Then I can collect different memories, and with the people I love."
