From Villach to Kelag
Energetic change: Herzeg leaves municipal council
Christoph Herzeg is now leaving Villach town hall after all. After a good five years, his path is leading him back into business.
For a while, Villach municipal director Christoph Herzeg was also in the running for the post of top civil servant in Klagenfurt, but he withdrew his application. In a multi-stage selection process, he was now able to prevail against his competitors and will take over the management of Kelag Energie & Wärme on August 1.
"Christoph Herzeg's extensive skills, based on his training and professional career in politics, administration and the private sector, make him excellently qualified to shape the future development of Kelag Energie & Wärme," Kelag CEO Reinhard Draxler said in advance.
It has not yet been decided who will succeed Christoph Herzeg in Villach. "Christoph Herzeg is an accomplished lawyer with assertiveness and an excellent network," says Mayor Günther Albel, regretting his departure. "His workload and willingness to take difficult paths have brought Villach forward." Until a successor is found, Deputy Municipal Director Alfred Winkler will take over the office.
