Hasselhoff’s “Baywatch” swimming trunks go to the museum

A museum bought Hasselhoff's swimming trunks at an auction in Dallas (USA) for the equivalent of just under 2750 euros (3000 dollars).

The series "Baywatch" is one of the cult series of the 1990s, was considered the most successful television series in the world and was broadcast in 144 countries. "Knight Rider" (1982-1986) David Hasselhoff finally achieved worldwide fame in 1991 through his participation as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon.

Actor David Hasselhoff's original swimming trunks from the TV series "Baywatch" will soon be hanging in a German museum.

The BikiniARTmuseum in Bad Rappenau near Heilbronn has bought the iconic piece of fabric at an auction in Dallas (USA) for the equivalent of just under 2750 euros (3000 dollars)

"David Hasselhoff was one of the guarantors of success for the cult series and joins the ranks of great Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Amy Winehouse and Brigitte Bardot in our museum," says Preißer.

Pamela Anderson's swimsuit was significantly more expensive
The museum already owns a world-famous "Baywatch" swimsuit worn by actress Pamela Anderson, in which she repeatedly sprinted across the beach in front of the camera and threw herself into the water. However, the museum had to pay considerably more money for it: The swimsuit cost 27,500 dollars about a year ago.

Hoserl can be admired from July
The Hasselhoff swimming trunks and the Anderson swimsuit will be on display for the first time in a special exhibition in Bad Rappenau from July. The museum, which opened three years ago, says it will be showing 400 swimwear items since 1870.
