Orbanistan?
Mölzer: “Kickl is being demonized”
The current "TV duel" between Andreas Mölzer and Eva Glawischnig on krone.tv was about the term "Orbanization", which Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler used in the ORF press hour about Herbert Kickl's idea of Austria's future.
Glawischnig: "Kogler was in top form on Sunday with this formulation." Mölzer with a wink: "Was he sober?" Glawischnig: "Certainly!". The former FPÖ EU mandatary Mölzer clarifies: "Orban has a two-thirds majority in Hungary. Of course he's going to create there." Glawischnig qualifies: "But he is also a friend of Putin. Kickl's closeness to Orban is incomprehensible."
Mölzer, annoyed: "Kickl is constantly diabolized and demonized. Yet he showed in his Ash Wednesday speech that he can also be softer." Glawischnig: "But with him, you think it's Shrove Tuesday all year round."
Andreas Mölzer's assessment of the fact that former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz recently gave a relatively gentle assessment of a possible Chancellor Kickl in a krone.tv interview is as follows: "I think Kurz has realized that it was a huge mistake to have terminated the coalition back then."
Another topic was the possible replacement of Andreas Babler at the head of the SPÖ, as his seat is already being sawn into again. Mölzer: "Somehow I almost feel sorry for Babler. The SPÖ is in a deplorable state." Glawischnig adds: "The statement by trade unionist Josef Muchitsch that Babler must change course was surprising. But he is right, Babler must move to the political center."
You can see the respective stances of the two duelists on this and many other political topics in the video above.
