Slipped off the pedal: driver smashes through fence

Small mistake, big impact: a driver slipped off the brake pedal and got stuck on the gas pedal in Klagenfurt - ending up damaging two cars and a metal fence.

The 83-year-old wanted to make a U-turn in a parking lot on Monday afternoon - but got stuck on the gas pedal. The car accelerated sharply, crashed into a parked car in reverse and then broke through a metal fence at full speed, which was supposed to mark off the parking lot in the direction of Villacher Ring.

The rear of the car hit the sidewalk and came to a stop. No one was injured.

The Klagenfurt professional fire department recovered the 83-year-old's car using a crane vehicle.
