Heimatwerk without a “layer of dust” after renovation
On Thursday, around 200 guests inspected the modern result of the Heimatwerk renovation. An otherwise publicity-shy star guest from America was also in attendance.
"Our mission was to rid the Heimatwerk of its dusty character through the renovation," said architect Edi Mayr at the reopening on Thursday evening. In addition to a new lighting and color concept, the order was even more important for the parquet floor. It has to withstand the pebble dust. Customers carry this into the store from Residenzplatz with their shoes, especially in winter.
In the end, it became an oak parquet with a matt surface texture. The 200 or so guests who attended the reopening were able to put the new flooring to the test.
Among them was Kristina von Trapp - granddaughter of the legendary extended musical family. Together with her daughter Annie, she was on hand to promote her own cause: the "Sound of Music" film is celebrating its 60th anniversary next year.
