Vacation like the VIPs
The travel tips and tricks of Austro celebrities
These five celebrities have proven that it doesn't always have to be further, more expensive or more exclusive for the perfect break!
Anyone who thinks that celebrities only know long luxury vacations in the Maldives or expensive wellness weekends in exclusive hotels is completely wrong. The "Krone" asked a few VIPs for their hot getaway recommendations this year, and was amazed at how often they prefer to unwind here in Germany.
Honey, get in the car!
"We perform a lot in summer, so we only enjoy short car trips to places like Northern Italy or Lake Wörthersee. But I also love hiking in Charly's home town of Murau," says Simone.
Along the coast ...
Sylvia Graf, Ö3 presenter and self-proclaimed "early bird", gave "Krone" readers this tip: "Mom and son are going to Turkey, a vacation with her is a must once a year! And I recommend going to Croatia by car, at least as far as Split and then taking a ferry! Once you've found a place that suits you, research good restaurants on the Internet!"
Greek wine and the Italian sea
"My summer always looks the same: I fly to Mykonos with my sister, to our beloved Falkensteiner in Jesolo with Gerda (Rogers) and once to Lake Traunsee with the family!" Author and artist manager Clemens Trischler can look forward to this wonderful summer.
The journey is the destination
"I always take my breaks and enjoy working, so I never really 'need' a vacation. I would like to recommend and try it myself, a hike lasting several days, here or in Italy perhaps. I find it exciting to be able to explore several places along the way myself," said actor Markus Freistätter in an interview.
Postponed to the back
"With my school-age daughter Kiana, I've discovered fall vacations for myself! There are far fewer people around and it's often cheaper. Last year we went to Tunisia. I love going to the sea, we already have beautiful mountains here," explained former lottery lucky fairy Martina Kaiser.
So one thing is clear: your own country is a great place to "vacation". Nevertheless, in the words of author Clemens Trischler: "Spending the summer in Austria is fantastic! But if you have to go further afield, that's not a bad thing either ..."
