Small car plunged into the Lammer next to a bridge

Alarm after a country youth festival in Annaberg on Saturday night: passers-by called the police, Red Cross and fire department after a VW Golf left the main road and crashed into the River Lammer. 

The driver of the small car, a local man (36), was able to free himself from the car before the emergency services arrived at the scene. While the police officers attended to the uninjured driver, firefighters began the recovery and clean-up work. The car had crashed into the stream directly in front of the Ledering bridge. With the help of the fire engine, the firefighters were able to get the wreck back onto the road.

In the meantime, the police confiscated the driver's license: according to the breathalyzer test, he had a blood alcohol level of 1.7 per mille. He will be reported to the district authority.
