European Championship support: ÖFB fan clubs rely on crowdfunding
Austria's team manager Ralf Rangnick motivated die-hard supporters for choreographies and European Championship support. A crowdfunding campaign was launched for the financing.
Team boss Ralf Rangnick got the ÖFB fan clubs really fired up in November at the Luftburg in Vienna's Prater with his tales of the passion of Argentina's supporters at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Daniel S. from the Saukarln, which he founded as a 15-year-old at the commercial academy in Laa an der Thaya, said after the meeting: "Rangnick is an outstanding motivator. When he gives speeches like that in the dressing room, I'm not surprised that the team plays so well."
The fan clubs then decided to support the players as "fiery" as possible at the EURO. As the Hurricanes, who had organized great choreographies for a long time, scaled back their commitment, the other fan clubs formed a rope team. Rangnick had also proclaimed this with distributed snap hooks in his squad: "Everyone is important, everyone has to do their bit, everyone has to be able to rely on each other."
15,000 euros with crowdfunding
A crowdfunding campaign was launched on whydonate.com to finance the European Championship choreographies for the matches against France (June 17 in Düsseldorf), Poland (June 21 in Berlin) and the Netherlands (June 25 in Berlin). This raised almost 15,000 euros. The fan clubs also raised additional money. Martin Wachter from the Red-White-Red blood group and Gernot Thierschädl from the GLBG crew say: "Everything is financed. All fan clubs are already in full EURO mode and preparations for the choreography are underway." Andreas Grasmann from the Pielachtal team fan club is the main director.
