Concerned family saved the day for Forstopfer

It was his family's concern and otherwise exemplary punctuality that saved the day for a 63-year-old man in Losenstein. Because when he didn't come home as agreed, his family raised the alarm and the rescuers found the seriously injured man in the forest.

The 63-year-old began working in the forest in Losenstein in the morning. He had attached a tree to the cable winch and was working directly underneath it. The tree suddenly slipped sideways and hit the forester, causing him to fall about 50 meters down the slope and remain injured.

Emergency services searched
As he had not contacted his family as agreed at around 6 p.m., they informed the emergency services. The police searched for the missing man together with the fire department. When he was found, the fire department rescued the man from his predicament and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
